Five Minute Friday {Close}
Welcome to Five Minute Friday to where us bloggers are given a word prompt and write for just 5 minutes simply for the joy of writing.
No editing or backtracking. No need to be perfect. Just words freely flowing from my heart to yours. Set the timer and write away! Stop at the 5 minute mark no matter where you are!
Today’s Five minute Friday word is {Close}

Healing is about slowly closing the door to the past and opening up a new door the future.
The key to this (no pun intended) is to not close to the door too quick without truly healing what is needed. if you close the door too quickly, you wont allow the light to shine on what needs to be seen – to be healed.
Its about the process of healing and knowing when its okay to shut that door and open another door when you are ready.
There are people who sometimes keep that door closed to their past, and when you don’t give light to the dark, you wont know what needs to be “seen” in order to “heal”.
You can’t heal what you can’t see, and you can’t heal what you don’t feel.
The past 7 years and going into the 8th year of therapy has been about opening that door that was closed for so long, giving the past some light to shine, to heal, to feel, and connect to, so that when I finally do close to the door, I can open another with confidence in the new messages of the now, and not the old messages from then.
The whole healing process has been about opening a door and closing it with truth. That has been my mantra for 7 years now.
Don’t close that door to healing so quick, you need to heal what is seen, and you can’t see something that hides in the dark. Give it light and then rest it in the knowing that you are abetter person because of that.

I think my biggest “breakthrough” was when I realized that ALL emotion is from God. He gave us those feelings for a reason. Thank you for the FMF FB page and thank you for sharing with us.
Hugs,
Melinda (from FMF)

Just liked the Facebook page. Thanks so much for doing that! And thanks for being honest about your healing process – figuring out the timing on when to close a door and when to leave it open is hard, but it sounds like you are on the right path!
