Light from Darkness!
I absolutely LOVE this quote! Me being a photographer for 15 years, I would have to say that this quote so much relates to my life today, and the journey I have been on for so long in healing.
What I have come to understand and know in this journey is that, you cannot see light if you have never seen darkness, you cannot know what it feels like to be happy, if you have never been sad, you cannot know what love feels like, if you have never experienced pain and or hate. You cannot feel one thing, if you have never felt the opposite. It’s the contrast of life that we need in order to honor and respect the opposite.
I think that knowing the opposite of light and dark, happy and sad, love and hate, makes us stronger in our journey. When we experience the bad, we try and work hard through it to experience the good…. and that sometimes makes us richer and wiser.
In my journey I truly feel that something is being prepared out of the darkness! I think for the first time, I truly believe God has a plan for me greater than the darkness I have been in. Yes it’s hard to get through it, it’s not easy to see in darkness, but that is when you need to trust something is there; something greater than what you are going through.
There isn’t’ a day that doesn’t go by that I don’t wake up and wonder what it is I can do today to get closer to seeing that picture; that light! I just keep pushing forward and keep healing. Connection is a HUGE role in my healing – I stay connected, and I find ways to move through it, and honor it. Honoring darkness is hard, but enduring what is to come is even greater.

Karen – you have shed so much light on the hope that is lost every day. I think when I see darkness, I feel there is no opposite. You have helped me to see that there is another side, that makes me want to work hard like you to get to it. Thank You
