five minute friday {tell}
Welcome to Five Minute Friday to where us bloggers are given a word prompt and write for just 5 minutes simply for the joy of writing.
No editing or backtracking. No need to be perfect. Just words freely flowing from my heart to yours. Set the timer and write away! Stop at the 5 minute mark no matter where you are!
Today’s Five minute Friday word is {Tell}
{Start}
I have been blogging now for about 5 years, and my soul purpose for writing my blog is to “tell” my story and no longer sit in the silence I was forced into since I was little.
When I first began the blog I slowly began with just photos to words. I slowly would talk about my life as a mom to 3 amazing boys, and how my husband and I have been married for 20+ years and how much I love being a mom and wife and more so a child of God and about my faith.
I slowly began to bring my words to bigger thoughts and my thoughts to a story. I found that my voice from the silence that was put upon me was “connecting” and not only connecting but it was the power of “telling”.
5 years into my blog writing and I am telling my story, and I am not longer sitting in the silence of pain and suffering. I use my voice and tell my story for a purpose and I believe God has given me a purpose.
I am an adult survivor of child sexual abuse and I have a story to tell. I write my truth about my healing process and write about the good and hard days. My truth is the path to healing and the path to healing is a connection not only to others but it’s my path to God.
I use my blog as my voice, and everyday I am grateful for this space to be whatever I need and or want to be. NO one can take this voice away from me – not this time.
I can tell my story however way I need to and I am blessed that God has given me the ability to do so.
If you have a story or truth that holds you from being the person you need to be – TELL IT! Tell your story!
God gave us a voice for a reason, and there are people who are waiting to embrace you in that.
“Tell” me your thoughts, I would love to connect with you.
{End}

*tear* I just keep thinking about how He DOES make beautiful things out of dust, and what a scary responsibility we have to TELL others and spread the glory of God to the hurting, broken or just plain confused. Thanks for your bravery.

Yes, yes, Karen Beth. Tell your story, loud and clear, or quietly and gently. Whatever way you feel safe, however you feel heard.
We are listening. Yes we are.
He is, too …

Powerful and true. Sometimes it’s hard to recognize the real in the people we read in this blogosphere. This is my first time visiting with you and what you have gone through, and your strength in telling about it have both hit me like a sledgehammer. You make your story real. I am so sorry that you experienced what you did. In tears for the loss. I am incredibly proud of you for your sharing what is difficult because I know there are countless others you and your story are helping.

I love that you’re telling your story, and encouraging all of us to do the same. It’s not always easy, but learning to tell is so important.

Thank you for sharing your story and bravery! I’m reminded of the scripture in Rev 12:11 “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.” Every time we share our story we overcome and we have the victory and so do others through our story. 🙂

Hello, this is my first time to post in Five Minute Friday, and my first time to even visit. It has been fun. I love that you are stomping on the devil’s head by telling your story of child abuse. Allowing truth to be heard is like throwing water on the devil’s fire. Good for you! God bless you as you tell!
