Today’s Five minute Friday word is {RED}

START

The very first thought that I had when I saw the word was {Red} was my Wedding Convalidation dress!

I have been married 22 years, but 2 years ago my husband and I redid our wedding vows in the Catholic Church when I became Catholic 2 years ago.

In order to become Catholic my husband and I had to convalidate our wedding vows in the catholic church because my husband is Catholic and we never did our wedding in the Catholic church 22 years ago.

This moment for me was one of the most beautiful memories I have ever had and will ever have. I chose this dress because Red has a meaning to me as a child and I wanted to incorporate that color in my renewing of the vows!

The dress was beautiful and had Red flowers going down the front of the dress and I wore pearls in my hair.

My husband and my 3 teen boys wore black suits with a red tie and they looked incredibly handsome.

I love the color red! I love the color red for many reasons. It was my choice of color when I was a child. I had red tights, red bows, red dresses and I only colored in my coloring book with the color red.

I am very much into oriental designs and a lot of those designs are in the color red.

It only made sense to choose red as a color to incorporate the renewing of the vows to the man I love and my 3 beautiful teen boys who are so very special to me.

RED is a great color and a great word choice today. Thank you for letting me share my story about the red in my wedding dress

    Karen, while red can sometimes be associated with anger, it is generally a very positive and energising colour. In China, brides can wear red as it represents prosperity and joy. In India, it symbolises purity. I usually find you to be a very positive and optimistic person, so this colour fits well.

    Your dress looks absolutely beautiful…

    I loved reading this!
    It’s nice to learn a new and special thing about you. It’s neat the way you shared about the color and it’s meaning to you all the way from childhood. It was astonishing to me that you colored only using red when you were a child…very interesting!
    And the photo of your re-wedding – WOW how beautiful. I love the dress and you look stunning in it. The red accents are unique and lovely just like you.

    I would love to re-new my vows at some point down the road (not for the same reasons, but for some good ones!) I had never thought about what I would wear. So beautiful! Love that dress, great post!
