five minute friday {look}

Welcome to five minute Friday to where us bloggers are given a word prompt and write for just 5 minutes simply for the joy of writing.

No editing or backtracking necessary. No need to be perfect. Just words freely flowing from my heart to yours.

Today’s Five minute Friday word is {Look}

START

Sometimes life is so busy that we don’t take time to look around us and take in the very things that surrounds us.

We sometimes take for grated of the things that we automatically think are here. We look through the foggy lens at life of being busy and sometimes messy.

We get caught up in the day to day schedules, the dinner that needs to be made, the shopping that needs to be done, the kids that need to be carted around from place to place, the endless errands that need to be done by a certain time.

So today when I saw the word “look” I decided to stop, look around, and just see everything that surrounds me.

It’s beautiful out today, the sun is shining and it’s cool and breezy. it’s a perfect day to stop and take a walk, or even just sit outside and be in the beautiful creation that God has for us right here outside the messiness of life.

I see the house is clean, the candles are lit, and the fall decorations that bring out the feel of season. I see my husband on a conference call and so blessed to have him home from his business trip. I see my oldest son who is home today and getting ready to bake something in the over again.

I also look around and see how lucky I am to have the great people in my life. Outside of the hardness of life, and the chaos it sometimes brings, I am blessed to see what I have, and who fills my life with joy – my family, friends, my support system, the connection I have with my support, and most of all GOD.

I look and I see that no matter how hard the day is, how hectic, how chaotic, how stressful it can be, I can still look around and see all the good around me, and today was a reminder that I need to – Stop – Look around – Take in – and embrace the good even in the messiness of life.

  1. You’re absolutely right! Sometimes we do need to stop and really look at what we’re blessed with. In my own life, I have to do that in order to make it through.

    I am impressed by your courage and strong commitment to heal. May God continue to reveal Himself to you as you recall those things that are hidden. May you feel His presence with you.

    Blessings,
    Allison

  2. Reading you post has made me look around and see so much that needs to be done. Since you are the second person in a row (through reading) to mention it, I think I’l listen to God speaking to me and get up now. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy your beautiful day!
