five minute friday – join

Welcome to five minute Friday to where us bloggers where we are given a word prompt and write for just 5 minutes simply for the joy of writing.

No editing or backtracking necessary. No need to be perfect. Just words freely flowing from my heart to yours.

Today’s Five minute Friday word is “Join” – Join Together

START

One of the things I love most about writing in my blog is being with and connecting with other people who go through different yet similar trials in life.

I have met some absolutely wonderful people through my healing in this blog. I not only write for myself to speak my voice and heal through that, but I also connect with others who join in this blog with me.

I get so many emails every week from people who are truly touched by my blog writing, and I myself am just as honored to be a part of their blog and read their journey.

Connection is a part of joining – I was not much of the “joining” type of person before I started therapy. I was shy and reserved and kept to myself.

Since therapy, my therapist has shown me how to engage in relationships -in safe relationships. I have learned to be a part of life and not just live alone inside my pain.

I joined a new church and became catholic 3 years ago. I have joined people in community. I have joined with other friends in lunch every week to have some “friend” time. I started a blog over a year ago to bring people together with me in this journey to help them along with their journey as well.

I am joined together by wonderful people in my life – the best support I could ever ask for, and I am blessed!

.. and here we are, it’s five minute Friday where people are joined together all over the world to share what the word of the week means to them in their journey, and that is a wonderful connecting – together we are joined!

  1. coming over from five minute friday. i think it’s wonderful that you trust enough to talk some about your abuse and recovery on your own blog. (and you have a beautiful background picture)

  2. So thankful that God is using this space and your words to bring healing. So often it’s when we say “yes”, even though we feel week, those are the moments He uses most. May you continue to find healing as you say yes to Him! Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
