five minute friday {choose}

603966_388955457849665_155351007_nWelcome to five minute Friday to where us bloggers are given a word prompt and write for just 5 minutes simply for the joy of writing.

No editing or backtracking. No need to be perfect. Just words freely flowing from my heart to yours.

Today’s Five minute Friday word is {Choose}

Start

For years through my childhood and through my life I always lived for everyone else around me. I have learned over the years to “choose me” “choose healing” “choose God” and to “choose life on the other side of the pain”.

I have been in therapy for 7 years now, and I have learned so much about choosing the things I never had.

I am choosing to live by choice, not by chance.

I am choose to make changes and not excuses.

I am choosing to be motivated, not manipulated.

I choose to be useful, not used.

I choose to excel, not compete.

I choose self-esteem, not self pity.

I choose to listen to my inner voice, not the random old messages that still ring in my ears from my childhood past.

I also think that when we are living our everyday life, we forget to choose GOD who we take for granted being by our side – to take a moment every day to just thank him for the path in front of us, before we think of ourselves.

I am going to make a conscious effort today to choose GOD before I think of myself and just thank him for the everyday blessings even though I know sometimes that is hard.

I have had a hard couple of weeks emotionally and physically and sometimes when we are going through hard times, we lose sight of what is in front of us, and sometimes its easy to get caught up in not seeing what is right in front of us.. like GOD who gives us strength, and to care for ourselves so that we can be as good as God made us to be.

So TODAY who or what do you choose? what can you choose today that could make a difference in your day in the image of GOD?

Today I choose God, and I also choose to take care of myself so that I CAN be there for others.. I am no good to others if I myself am not healthy.

{End}

    I heard a radio broadcast recently about the scars of the past and it was very encouraging to me…It was The Curse of Words…found at Revive Our Hearts by Nancy Leigh DeMoss…check it out…it was worth listening too!
